why even bother to fix it? it's illegal to change it manually. your trip meter works still?

the odometer on cars with a manual odometer is badass, its like a zillion to one gear ratio, it's insane... anyway, it's prolly just suttin stupid like one the gears is busted or suttin to set it manually just turn the numbers with a screwdriver...

if both the odometer and trip don't move then the cluster isn't getting the signal from the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) sensor. Fix that out and things may start rolling again.

i kno its not the VSS cuz i put a bunch of leds behind my gauges and when i put everythin back together i smelled somethin burning......somethin on the gauges prolly hit some of my power wires for the leds and burnt out the odometer and trip meter....so i jus need a way to throw on like 7k every year b4 inspection.....i aint sellin the car so i wont be screwin anybody...i aint like that ..my bro will prolly take it after me

If you take the cluster back out again, you may see a piece of the copper "tape" that runs on the back thin plastic burnt through. If you can locate this piece (there are two layers) you can repair it using this:
