Default Time for Better Shocks....Or Go Coilovers???

Right now I'm Running Eibach Pro Kit On my 99 Prelude......

I'm happy with the Height...It's perfect for my 17x7's and 205-45-17 Tires...
I'm not happy with the Body Roll.....PRobebly because Of Stock Shocks.....

Do I buy new shocks....I want Koni Yellow's. I'll spned the money to get the quality.
Or Do I buy a set of Tein, Tanabe, or other High end Coilover??....I will spend the cash to get the quality in a coilover also.

Hit me up with what you think.....Are Coilovers worth it?

PS: I'm looking for Canyon Road handling and AutoX.

Personally I would go with shocks, you can keep your same height, and are guaranteed a better ride than with stock shocks.

It all depends on what you are trying to do. If you need the ride height adjustment, then definitely go with a quality set of coilovers. Make sure to get a full coilover setup instead of piecing the set together. You will get a better ride with a setup manufactured to work together.

If you are not looking for ride height adjustment, the Koni Yellows are definitely top of the line. I have them on one of my vehicles and love them. PM me with your vehicle info and I will price a set for you. The Koni's for your vehicle have an adjustable spring perch which will allow you to change the height one setting.

I really dont need height adjustment.....

My car is the perfect height for the wheels and tires I run. 205-45-17's....

I also want to get a set of 16" Rota GT3's with some 205-55-16 Falken Azenis Sports for AutoX....Which I hope will fit perfect since the 17's do.

you want to run the 215/45/16 azenis. the 55's are too tall, and for auto-x the shorter the gearing, the better when it comes to our cars.

You are right...I didn't even see that size in the Falkens. I must have missed it.

But It's really a toss up.....I just drove my friends Prelude with the Tein Flex....

That is by far the best suspension. All he has is the Tein Flex with Ingalls Camber Kits at all four corners and it handles soo good I can't even beleive I have the same Car......Will Koni's Do that?

Granted it could be better with some more chassis stiffening.....But the handling was crazy.

konis and the right springs will make a prelude handle great. the tein flex dampers are decent, i still think the konis are a better damper. The key to getting the konis to perform on par with the flex is getting stiff enough springs. however, on the stock valving of the konis, they can handle a maximum spring rate of ~600 lb/in^2. If you want to go stiffer than that you'd need them revalved. I believe the rates on the FLEX are 560 lb/in^2 F and ~420 lb/in^2 R. also, koni's are limited by minimum travel, meaning you can't lower it too much before you're constantly on the bumpstops, which would be bad. still, koni yellows on stock valving and factory length will probably be more than enough for you to make the car handle well. throw in some custom rate ground controls (like 400F/450R, though spring rates are a very personal preference) and you'll be sitting pretty.

there are so many ways to get a prelude to handle well, but the key components (in order of effectiveness) are: tires, spring rates, enough negative camber, sway bar. chassis reinforcement helps but not nearly as much as the things i just mentioned.
