Newbie with tranny trouble!!!
You probably have heard about this transmission problem I have with my 97 5th grn AutoSS.
When cold, the tranny shifts at around 4000rpm with bad jerk and sound of course. It goes away as the fluid warms up, and perfectly normal when it's at normal temp. I don't get this in the summer.
Some people said it's normal for older cars, but some said temp shouldn't affect the tranny like that, not to that extend at least.
I changed the fluid, but doesn't fix the problem at all. I am now selling the car. A guy came to look at it, and I let him know of the problem. He's still interested, but wants to know what the problem is before he hands me the check.
Actually, I was all ready to get it fixed this week until he called and sounded very interested. So if he decides not to buy it, am I looking at a big bill to pay for?
