Clutch problems, weak pedal???
My brother has my old 98 prelude and his clutch is giving him major problems. Entire tranny was replaced at 36K under warranty, now it has 120K on it and is acting up.
Here are the symptoms:
Pedal pressure is VERY weak, the take up point is almost all the way to the floor before you can shift gears. It's usually just a few inches after the pedal is depressed. He's having a hard time getting it to shift because he's got to push the clutch pedal all the way to the floor to get the gears to move and the clutch to engage.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Sounds like a clutch problem ... could be a throw out bearing, pressure plate, etc. Hard to tell without being there to see/feel the symptoms. It may not be able to be diagnosed until the tranny it out and the clutch inspected. Tell him not to force the shifter into gear, especially 5th or Rev, to keep from bending a shift fork.

I would have the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder changed out. It's a good idea to change them both out at the same time, and they are relatively cheap to replace. I had the same problem on my 5th gen Civic, and this fixed the problem.
have u try bleeding the clutch... i had a problem like that once... were the gears didnt want to go in gears... i decided to bleed the clutch and than it help a little..i mean like only a day... than i just went ahead and change out the entire clutch and all the bearings etc... and it worked fine... what happen was the clutch cracked in half... didnt know how but it did... one day it will come...ur going to have to change the clutch... that a giver...
