Tire Suggestions...???
Need to get new tires for my stock wheels...any suggestions?
I had the crappy stock RE92's--crap.
I am currently on Kuhmos Supra Ecsta 712--great tire, cheap as hell, but they are only going to last me about 22k-25k miles, and I'm kind of on a budget here.
So could someone suggest to me a decent performance tire for under about $100, better yet under $90, that's going to last at least 30k-35k.
I need a dry and wet tire, snow isnt much of an issue. Nowadays, I mostly just do street/hgway driving, my schedule rarely permits me to go autocroxing.
Any ideas, share your experiences, please.

well you need to stay away from Z rated tires then. They dont last for ****. Maybe you should try some all-season tires. I run z rated since I dont really have a choice, since I run 18's. ck out www.tires.com and do a search on it
I have to double check but I think the Kuhmos aren't even Z rated--I mean seriously, 24k miles with regular driving and occasional autoxing--that's just crap.
A friend of mine with a Sub 2.5RS suggested Dunlop SP Sport 5000, but those are either not available in my size or maybe even being discontinued.
Does anyone know anything about Dunlops SP (is it 8 or 9000)?
Also any more suggestions, thanks gusy.

I had Yokohama Avid H4's, decent, but I guess mine were too lo-pro for NYC.
Toyo Proxies are pretty good

If you drive your car hard 20-25k is about fair I would think. I'd recommend RE730's, they have a high treadwear rating and they stick pretty nice. Supposedly on their new spec 2 series they addressed the issue with noise. I have them on my car now and I'm over 20k and I'll get another 10k out of them I'm sure.
The RE730 Spec II is a great choice, but not in your price range. I would rather have the ZR rating and pay the extra for the performance and warranty this tire has. They worked gret for me at both Watkins Glen and Pocono a few weeks ago-grip is fine even after a number of laps in the heat. For that matter we ran the car in the rain and the tires were very predictable.
Hey guys thanks for all your comments. Im just looking around and reading some reviews.
What do you guys know about:
Dunlop SP Sport FM901,
Yokohama A520,
Pirelli PZero System Asimmetrico
----all of the above, are pretty much in my price range, but I haven't heard anything that great about any of them.
Also the Pirelli P7000 SUPERSPORT, they are a bit more, but I heard great things about them lasting, on the other hand they are supposedly loud as hell.
Keep the comments comming guys.
