Default Gas Mileage

hey guys I was just wondering what gas mileage you're getting on your preludes. I've been running a steady 26 mpg for a while, which was nice, but then all of a sudden, my mileage dropped to 23 or 24 and has stayed there for three weeks. I can't figure out why! Dose the change of season have anything to do with it? Hmph. Good day!

Could be the colder the air the more dense. This would cause there to be more oxygen in the mixture so the computer would compensate and add more fuel. Maybe..?

Wow how you ever get 26mpg? I always get 20mpg mixing highway and local. Local would be 18 and highway only would be 25.

Does the area you live in have a change in gas? Meaning, in my area they change the gas to something called gasahol during different seasons. I get worse gas mileage on gasahol.

I consistantly get 23-24 around town and 27 or so on the parkway.

check your tire pressure. change in temps change tire pressure.

oh that tire presure is a good call, forgot about that. Also, maybe I'm just starting the car and letting it idle alot more than in summer (to warm up). Who knows.

Besides tire pressure, always be sure that your fuel system is in good shape. fuel filter, spark plugs, wires, distributor, cap, rotor.

if its none of those, maybe you have a lead foot
