My car has some problems i need help with, well 1st, is when i start the car it idles rather high 2k Rpm +. it then settles down but then the rpm jumps up and down from 1000 to 1500. when i blip the throttle it stops but it idles at 1600. Ok 2nd. the car doesnt pull like it used to. when it hits vtec it studders and stubbles alot and just runs like shit to be blunt about it. i check the oil level and its fine, checked coolant level and its fine. any ideas of what it might be? thanks alot.

 

well the IAC valve comes to mind for #1, very common problem, ive changed mine before. those symptoms are 90% similiar to a broken IAC valve.

#2 id say check timing, fuel pressure if possible. Also see if u can determine whether its running rich like misfiring and sooting your bumper, or lean like a failing injector.
need more info about #2 like how it performs throughout the rev-range not just in VTEC.

Well sometimes around 3k rpm i might bop a lilbit. but thats it . the power overall ive noticed had been sucky lately. like i dont feel the torque anymore up end it SUCKS especially when vtec opens. i will change the iac i have like 3 laying around. the iac is the sensor in the middleo f the throttle body right where the 2 coolant hoses go in right?
