Default Replacing Ball Joints on 4th Gen

My friend's 92 4ws is shot suspension wise. We're not really sure sure what type of suspension kit he installed or if he even installed any, but the car is extremely low and all the what seem to be balljoints have expired (meaning crushed) so now the car just bottoms out on everything. So......the plan is to take the car off the road for the winter and save up the money to replace everything in one shot. I'm still looking for new springs and shocks (so if any of you have a set for sale hit me up for a low price lol)

Enough rambling, my question is how many balljoints are there cuz there seem to be alot and how much am I looking at to replace these and can I do it myself? TIA
