Default Tranny - Good days and bad days

It seems, that every now and then I accidentally enfuriate my transmision, and for the following 5 minutes it's mad at me.
It's a strange problem. Every now and then, my shifts will get extremely notchy and that butter smooth honda feel completly disapeares. I don't know if I would describe this as more "presice" it just feels more crude. It's a rather abrubt change and scares me when it happens, so I try to drive as conservativly and smoothly as possible untill it goes away. This usually happens once every couple of days, and seems to happen immediatly after I push the car a bit past my everyday driving (quicker shift for some reason - entering highway, need to accelerate or somthing). Yea so, I dunno man, I'm freaked out. I think it may be some synchros. Eh. Help?

right, and theres no way in hell that the car somehow senses my "performance driving" and kicks somthing up a notch (like a VTEC transmition!). No? I didn't think so. Dangit, I knew this wasn't intentional. Help please?

does it grind when you engage a gear driving a little more aggressively?

Nope, no grinding. Just shifting from one gear to the next is really notchy and "unrefined". Wierd.
