Default fuel managment system

I am looking for a good aftermarket system that won't break the vbank.

I have seen a few but I dont know which one to get.

the most popular are the Apexi VAFC's, which are good for what they do at their price.

there's also hondata, which requires you have an OBDI ECU but is pretty powerful.

the newest option gaining popularity is the greddy emanage, which sounds pretty cool, and isn't too expensive.

hondata hands down. has way more tuning options than a vafc. there are some downsides though. as previously mentioned you have to convert to obd1 if you're obd2 and if there's nobody around you with the necessary tools to tune it with, you're SOL. do you have mods requiring you to tune the fuel system?

Well, I am going for a complete upgrade of my fuel system. From top to bottom. I am planning on for now new fuel rail, pump, filter, and larger injectors. Oh yeah presure regulator too . Is there anything else I need??? I will look into the unit mention above.

well is there any reason you need all this fuel? e.g. on a stock engine it'll just make you run rich, which = slow.

if you've got a lot of engine work done, or a turbo though, it'll be necessary to upgrade fuel and stuff.

if you don't mind going to OBDI hondata is prob the best option.

I have heard that the AEM stand alone units are a HUGE waste of cash, and you're better off w/ hondata or an Apex-i unit....

how is it a waste of money exactly? it has WAY more tuning options than a vafc and the price is comparable to a hondata unit with the required conversion to obd1.

AEM is a harder unit to program than the Hondata units however it does allow much more tuning options built into the main unit, and tighter maps I believe. Either way if you're doing a full out build you go Hondata or AEM. The rest are either too messy or just don't compare against these two unless you go Motec but then that's just far too expensive (2-3x that of AEM or Hondata)
