Auto to manual swap
Okay, so my best friend has a 2001 Base Lude with skunk2 IM, CAI, and header. He is planning on an exhaust next and then forced induction most likely a turbo kit. The problem is that he has the SS Auto. He is thinking either the stage 3 level 10 auto tranny build or swapping to a manual tranny. I have a couple of questions though. I know a lot about civics but not so much about Ludes.
Does level 10 do the tranny rebuild or do you have to have a tranny shop do it?
I have found some good resources for the auto to manual swap but does anyone know of any serious issues with it?
Where can I get a good deal on a lude Manual tranny with LSD?
Which is better overall as far as cost is concerned?
I have read that the auto to manual swap should run about $3,000.00 plus $300.00 to $500.00 for a serious street clutch.
What would the whole level 10 build cost and what are the downsides?
I know a lot of this is opinion so I thought I get your input.
