Default Cold Air or Short Ram?

Ok, I'm trying to decide on what type of intake to go with on my 99 SH. A while ago, there was a thread talking about this, and about what brands to go with, and such. I've pretty much narrowed it down to two options for me though (Unless you guys have something better)
1) A name-brand CAI
2) A short-ram, and new hood (with scoop, obviously) Possibly CF?
I heard someone say that CAI is proven to always yeild greater HP gains than short ram. Is this still true with a vented hood? Because I don't see how...
But anyway, which should I go with?
Thanks

unless u want the carb sticker, there's no point in getting a name brand CAI. it's a 3" dia pipe with a filter on the end, not a lot of engineering in that :P.

short ram is easier, takes less time to install (not an important factor but anyway), does not risk hydro lock in large puddles, doesn't drastically change torque or low end acceleration, is cheaper..... I'd say go with the cold air, unless you like what i've just listed. Not to say that theres anything wrong with the CAI

Honestly I'd go with the CAI. as long as you have an inner fender skirt to protect your filter from water that the tires may pick up and don't go rally racing hittting every puddle you can find you'll be okay.
