short ram is easier, takes less time to install (not an important factor but anyway), does not risk hydro lock in large puddles, doesn't drastically change torque or low end acceleration, is cheaper..... I'd say go with the cold air, unless you like what i've just listed. Not to say that theres anything wrong with the CAI
