Rev limiter
well, i had the same question, but i think i know mine..umm, it depends on ur ecu, your ecu limits how high you can rev. you can get a ecu to change ur ability to rev as high as u want, but go to high and u will probably blow it. since ur in the prelude section, im thinking u have a h22, h23, or a f22, or something around there..and i have a h23 and it redline at like under 7k, but my ecu allows me to rev up to 7300 before my ecu kicks in and it stops feeding me fuel.
revlimit SHOULD be around 6700 on the h23a1 and 6500 on f22a1
the h22a has a stock revlimit of 7500-8000 depending on air temp/baro pres. and various other things the ECU monitors to prevent detonation.
you dont need to buy a new ecu to change revlimit. you just have to burn a ROM with a higher revlimit, or modify the revlimit HEX code on a stock ROM and then burn a new chip.
i have a ROM burner but i use a AT29C256 EEPROM, so i can erase it without having to use another chip and then just reburn the new program.
currently i have my limiter set at 8500, and VTEC around 5200, IAB at 5000. the p13 is pretty limited as far as modification goes, the fuel maps are an unknown conversion formula so you cant change them on a stock p13. if u really want the most functionality you should get a OBD1 p28 ecu, hack the hardware for external ROM and datalogging and then burn a h22a program for it.
