Hey! .. i'll say go for the 4th gen .. with 6K you'll find a Vtec model .. the only thing that the 5th gen has better than the 4th gen is the ass (4th gen ass suck LOL, but only the headlights i think ,, they could be a little biger going more to the sides of the car .. kinda the new accord coupe) and let me tell you that almost always when i stop to put gas on my car people ask me "what Kind of Honda is it??" .. and when i say the year ,.... so i'll definatelly say go for the 4th gen ... 5th gens are beautiful // but i really preffer the more agressive sharp look of the 4th gen ... .. when i go to alignment the mechanichs don't want to align because they think that my lude is lowered .. but isn't .. so they go to the alignement LOL, is just the look .. like a little evil machine!
Jus take a look in mine!

I would recomend a 4th Gen VTEC in your situation. I can't say anything about the looks because that just depends on who you are. In my area (West Central Ohio) there are not that many 4th or 5th Gen Preludes to speak of. If you do get a 4th Gen don't settle for anything less than a VTEC.

4th gen vtec IMO...you'd get a shitty 5th gen with no vtec for that much unless you found some crazy seller...good luck though

I have owned both generations, and I'll agree with most, buy a 4th! You can feel the weight in the 5th and I don't like the way it handles, it's not nearly as fun to drive. Plus you are not going to be able to find a 5th for that cheap unless it's a piece of crap. And who does not love the evil stare of the front end, and triangle tailights in the rear?!!!! Best lookin' Honda ever!
