H22a4 EGR System-Possible to clean?
Hello all,
I have a question for anyone that might know the answer. How do you clean the EGR ports on the H22a4? I have a 97 lude and I get the codes for EGR flow insufficient, I've already ruled out the actual EGR valve. I took a look at it, and cant fgure it out, couldnt find any walkthroughs either. Its so easy on the F22's, I can clean the entire egr system in like 35 min. now....but dang I cant figure this one out...Anybody know?
Also if not Honda will do it for free under the extended emissions warranty...I'm just bored and my car is sitting in the garage....

Honda replaced my EGR valve and cleaned the EGR port at no charge under the emissions warranty. They even replaced my fuel injectors free of charge!! This was almost a year ago, when my '97 had 125K miles on it.
97PreludeSH is right, the 15 year, 150k mile extended emissions warranty will cover my car, already called the dealership and confirmed. I am getting the EGR ports cleaned, EGR valve replaced, complete tune-up(plugs, wires, cap & rotor) all for free. They also said they would test to make sure they dont need to replace any Oxygen sensors....
I love that Honda lied to the EPA back then....heh, I get to enjoy the benefit...long live Honda
