Default H22 into H23 Car

Hi all-

Just wondering first off.. what's involved in swapping an h22 into a prelude SI.. could I get away with ordering just the longblock (http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc...age&item=30026) or should I get the one with motor, tranny, and computer (http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc...age&item=30015)..

i searched but all these damn accord h22 threads..heh

there are reasons u wouldnt want to but its worth it for the ecu. i prefer the h23a1 tranny, so i only got the longblock and then ebayed in the ecu.

Get the optional LSD tranny too. You won't regret it. I wish I was able to get it.

Is that something the shop will charge more laborwise to do?

I'm trying to keep it cheap, I notice on hmotorsonline its +300 for lsd, but idno, i don't even know what the significance of that is, and the search is.. blaa

haha

its a limited slip differential, meaning when u pop the clutch to start a race. u will leave 2 solid rubber marks on the ground, as opposed to one big mark with a stock open diff.
in simple terms: its a part of the tranny that forces a "even" distribution between the two axles. a stock open diff tranny biases more power to one side, and generally once u lose traction on one side it will run away with it, because the diff will bias all the way to the loose wheel.

the LSD should come factory installed in those trannys, i believe its just a factory LSD equipped tranny, your not buying the LSD separately with those deals. i actually have a b16a LSD equipped motor showing up tuesday for my friends civic. its a good deal. considering a QUAIFE LSD is around $895 for the part only, not counting labor to install it.

getting a tranny equipped with LSD for $300 is WELL worth it.

i'm runnin my h23 tranny as well, and i love it. I'm glad I stuck with the h23 tranny, the gearing is more suitable to my taste
