Default removing resonator.. extra stuff?

I read a guide on ntpod.org about how to remove your resonator and stuff. I dont have i/h/e yet because I just got my 99 lude last week, but the guide said taking out your resonator will make your car have more of a growl to it.

Well, when I took out the resonator, I ended up taking off my whole front bumper and everything, and took off the whole "air box" assembly thing with it.

My question is.. is it ok that I didnt put the whole box and plastic tubes back on? My car does growl a LOT more, but for some reason it doesnt seem like the VTEC is kicking in like it used to. Seems like it doesnt produce as much power as normal. Is it just me or does having the whole box thing out really cut back on my performance?

Only if you plug the vacuum lines correctly and have a proper filter on the intake. The power band will shift a bit with this mod. Go back to NTPOG for more info. Buy an AEM intake-I prefer short ram because NO water can get into it versus the CAI that can get totally soaked from a big puddle.

How does the powerband shift? My car isnt a 5spd, so I need as much torque and power and the low end for my take offs since they suck with an auto. NTPOG didnt have any information as far as power changes.

Is the CAI the one that mounts down inside the bumper? I'm pretty newb as far as the i/h/e stuff. I've only been in the Honda world for about a week and a half thanks for the reply
