Default Headlight bulbs for 5th Gen

What bulbs do you guys recommend?
I have had SilverStar's for about 3 months, and 1 has already burned out. At $40 a piece...too expensive!

So far, I haven't had any bulbs last more than 6 months, those were Lumiko's which cost $16 a pair...can't find them anymore though.

Any suggestions?

I'm holding out for a Phillips HID system, myself. Seems the safer, better way to go in the long run. Do brighter, stylized bulbs really burn out so quickly? I've been on my factory headlight bulbs for the last four years with no issues at all.

i've had some pretty good luck with Eurolite brands so far. you can find them for like 15 bucks on ebay. they're cheap, illuminate quite well, put out a whiter light, and seem to last longer than Sylvania Silverstars. that's from my own experience anyways.

all of the fakes burn out in less than half the time of a standard halogen bulb. get a true HID setup or buy bulbs every month. your choice.

I have had the best of luck with Mtec Bulbs.

They aren't Ricey and blue or green. They put out a nice white with a tiny bit of blue tint. They give the perfect look IMO compaired to others twice as much.

I have had H1, H3, 9005, 9004, ETc made by Mtec. On my EG Sedan, EK Hatch, And my friends 00 Prelude. In projectors and everything. I only had one of the H3's burn out on my after 6 months. BUt I did switch them out of 3 different projector headlights on my EG civic in that 6 months. So they must have got some grease on them which burned them up quick.

But I just bought a Prelude and I wille ordering my Mtec Bulbs within the week.

I use nothing but the Osram +30 bulbs from www.powerbulbs.com. Never have had a fialure with them or the Phillips equivalent for that matter. The most important thing to remember is NEVER-NEVER-touch the bulb glass. Also make absolutely certain to reinstall the rubber boot correctly.
Six months is much too short a time frame for most any bulb. You also want only 55 watt lamps. The Osram I use are rated 55watt=100 watt equivalent because of their design.

My burned out I know because I touched them. I know not to but it happened since I changed them so many times.

I use a very simple precaution-toss away rubber gloves for this install.
