Can anyone give me some suggestions on what type of head gasket to use for a boosted h22a1? Running stock internals and low boost. Thanks.

 

stock gasket should be fine for low boost and stock internals.
the h22a1 is the best h22 for boost because of its closed deck, which makes the actual block stronger and more rigid

stock headgasket should be fine even for more boost. you would rather blow a headgasket instead of a rod right?
and if it happens it happens, its better to have a headgasket that can give a little.

while you have the head off and are replacing the head gasket; and if you have the extra little bit of money to have it done, have the block o-ringed for a stonger gasket seal between your head and block

 

we use OEM HONDA gaskets in all applications for street to Full race. Even our 600-700 Race cars use OEM head gaskets. It seals the best compared to other brands.

Also look into some copper spray on to the gasket before putting the head on for better sealing.

 

O-ringed? What exactly does that consist of?

 

its a groove machined around each cylender and wire placed into that groove leaving a raised edge around each cylender. after the head is torqued down the copper gasket will form around the rings creating a tighter seal and less of a chance for it to blow out.
