Default Check engine, HELP

THis morning on my way to work in stop n go traffic my check engine light came on.
Now I HAVE to get emissions done this coming week and according to what I've read it will not pass if that light is on...so what if anything should/can I do?

Reset your ECU, and see if it comes back on. Just take off your negative battery wire for about 30 sec. and then put it back on, and turn your car on and see if the light comes back. If it does, then you have something wrong, but if it doesn't, then theres nothing to worry about

Just did that.
Didn't come back on,
but I'm going to take it out for lunch here in a bit to put it through it paces. Because it *could* come back.
I still have an Appt with Gwinnett Place Honda here in Atlanta at 8AM I am hesitant to cancel yet but I'd rather not pay $40 for them to run diagnostics when there isn't anything wrong either.

It came on this morning around the time I hit a pretty good pothole in the road in stop and go traffic.

I also when it's cold get the brake light come on which goes off when the car warms up. I checked the fluid and it's fine plus I just had the front pads changed on Wed.
Is that just the brake fluid being cold and not as liquid as it should be normally or something that *could* be a problem?

the brake light is coming for the reason that you think. its just cold most likely. my teg does that and before i upgraded to brembo's my lude did it as well...but maybe its because its really cold here in minnesota...

if the engine light doesnt come back on it just got josseled a little bit... nothing to worry about... ive had it happen to me as well.
reseting should work
