exhaust loudener
I got a Apexi rs catback on my 5th gen. Its nice. I love the way it looks. But it dosent sound right. To be more specific it sounds real soft. Its about as soft as stock. I Hung out with a buddy who had a N1 and it sounded great. I wish that mine sounded that good. I was wondering wut to do to change the exhaust sound or at least to louden it. He suggested that I take a really long drill bit and drill a small hole throw the exhasut tip in a small plate that is inside the muffler and it will fix the sound. Good idea or bad diea? Any other suggestions besdies jsut a new n1 muffler or catback?

try running a hi flow cat, get a header, don't drill holes into your muffler.
run a testpipe if you're daring.

Get a nice header and have a custom 2.5" straight pipe made to take it out the back. That will be loud.
Remember, loud is not fast. A Geo can be loud. A 'vette can be quiet. All a loud exhaust is going to do is attract more attention from the police.
