Default What Do I Do???

I just purchased a 1999 Honda Prelude none SH.
I want to start customizing it, but have never done anyting like that before and dont know where to begin. I want to begin with new headers and exhaust.

Is that a good place to start? What things do i need to consider... aside from my lack of funds.

Thanx,
Mike

Well the first main question that most people are going to ask... what are your goals for the car? Are you looking to make a dragster? AutoX? Spirited daily driving?

Start off with your basics: Intake, Exhaust, Pullies, V-AFC, Suspension

IMO, a header really isn't going to do much for your car. You pay $200-$300 for an extra 3hp maybe a little more, which is pretty much just a waste of money. The stock header piping is about the same size as a Greddy or DC Sport header

So if I were to take the I/H/E road is there an order that makes installation easier or less work in the long run?

yea if your gonna get a header and catback exhaust
get them at the same time.
the header WILL help more if you get the exhaust with it...

although IMO the stock engine with free tuning mods could make more power than if you get all that stuff and dont tune it up

also i would recommend buying all new exhaust nuts from honda for each side of your cat, bout $10 shipped
here

unless you get a high flow cat and it comes with the bolts

i would also personally get new header nuts
here
illustration code #9

since its a 99 you probably dont need to get the header nuts
but someone like me who is crazy probably would :yumyum:
