Default Turbo Engine

Which engine would you guys recommend for a turbo kit in a 4g prelude? I was thinking the h22 would probably be better than the h23 but im not entirely sure.
thx

h22a more hp to begin with and a better potential
h23a less 40 hp to start with and depending on how much boost you wanna run say about 6-9 lbs on a greddy or fmax kit for daily driving then that h23a would proly gain about 50-65 hp
or back where the h22a started while the h22a would be around 250-265 hp with the same mods
you get the idea
h22a  > h23a (also  cause it's a honda engine)
just my 2 cents

True, the h22 has more hp to begin with, but i have heard numerous times that the h23 produces better #'s turbocharges then an h22...I believe that it is the h23's displacement and compression that gives it the turbo advantage. You should talk to BoostLee and see what he has to add.

be prepared for very intensive maintenance. it's not simply a plug, play, and forget modification.

making a boosted yet reliable daily driver is a challenge that most engine builders aren't able to best.

both motors are great motors. i went with the h23 because it starts with a lower compression and the redline is about 6800-7000rpm. the h22 will rev to about 7800rpm, more of a chance to do damage to a engine at higher rpm and higher compression when boosting alot.

i lowered my compression with the headgasket. also i bought my prelude SE for $3700 about a year ago. cheaper than a vtec prelude.

it depends on what you want and you budget too
