Default How Many Quarts of Engine Oil Does Your H22A Require?

ok.....here's the thing. This is something I always forgot to ask. I have a 98 H22A4 in my Accord. Since I don't have any factory Prelude manuals, I was wondering if someone could answer this question for me. Is it me or does it take 6 quarts of oil for an H22A4 oil change? I was just curious since most Honda's and Acura's use only 4.

Question, if you put in too much oil...lets say, 6 quarts, will VTEC still work? Whats the disadvantage of too much oil?

I'm going to guess VTEC would still engage however you have a good chance at blowing some seals with that much extra oil. I wouldn't risk it if it was my motor.

The oil pan should be able to hold the extra, but don't take my word for it. Per the note above, don't risk it. Just keep the extra because you'll need it after 2000k
