Default cupholder

What was the first year they came out with the cupholder in the center console for the 4thgen?

I have a 1996 auto right now and like the cupholder... I'm looking at getting a manual, but want the cupholder option. h:

You really need to reconsider your priorities. Typical driver in this country. You know, BMW never even wanted cup holders in their cars untill 1998, and that was only because the typical driver in this country rates a cup holder above throttle response. See, it's called a car. You drive it. You don't drink your coffee in it. Get in and drive, please. You want a Prelude, get a Prelude. You want a cup holder, buy a Dodge Caravan (most cup holders in it's class).

Thanks for the lecture. I'll remember that next time I use it to holdon to my cell phone, screws, change.... etc.... I do use my car as a daily driver and not just for driving.

I completely understand what your saying, it's a car to drive in not to lounge in. Some people have other needs than just to track the car and a little feature like that is something nice to have.

Yeah I've noticed it too. When I shift my arm is more of a 90 degree angle. But it's a nice place to stash coins in =P
