Default 99 SH Clutch Problems

Im having all sorts of trouble with my car i've only had for a couple months. When I first got the car, everything seemed fine, ran very quiet, no strange noises or anything. I did hear a rocking noise that everyone told me was the timing belt. I got it replaced at some random transmission place and now its been making all sorts of odd noises. It makes a whining noise on top of the reving noise now, and when im idling it makes a wussy kind of noise i dont know how to describe.

Now, this morning i started up my lude and the clutch felt like it had no pressure at all, i could push it in and it had no resistence whatsoever. Due to this i couldn't put the car in gear until it warmed up a bit and then i finally managed to get it in gear. This actually happened a couple days in a row, it eventually got worse until it was doing that completely, but now ( today ) it seemed to feel fine, except the usual problems i hear. Anyone have any ideas?

Well it sounds like you need a new clutch.

I find it unusual that you replaced the timing belt. How many miles does the car have on it? The timing belt should usually be replaced at 100K miles or so.

it got replaced at 77k, we took it to the transmission place and took it to a honda place and both said the timing belt needed to be swapped. So i dont know, i cant say i know too much about cars but something doesnt sound right.

If there is whinning there is a good chance either of the belts are one size too small or the tensioner is too tight. Or, this whinning noise could be one of your accessory motors (alternator, p.s. pump, A/C compressor). I'd take it to a few reputable garages (not just a Joe schmoe backyard mechanic) to get a few solid estimates and establish a consistance as to what the problem is. If you know someone who is an ASE technician (not just a mechanic, there is a difference), I'm sure that would be a big help.

Maybe a dumb question but.....did you check the clutch fluid level? No resistance might mean that you need to add some fluid to the reservoir.
