Nice,

I'm pretty much satisfy with my current 3 lenses collection. If I have the $$, I'd definitely go for the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8, but I haven't find the "usage" for it yet. I'm ok with my cheapo Pentax 50-200mm for a while.

I do want its 31mm Limited Edition Prime though, but way too expensive for it

Next thing I want to get is this tripod: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc....html#features

Then I'll worry about either replacing the kit lens or getting a fast prime. There's an older version Sigma 28/1.8 that came in both auto and manual focus (with auto exposure) for Pentax. I've seen the manual focus show up on ebay twice now but not the AF one. It's smaller than the current big honker 28/1.8 macro and in theory should be cheaper.

Ah, yeah that's a bit more than I want to spend and I prefer a 3-way panhead to a ballhead. I like the option of shooting portrait orientation on a tripod.

The 70-210 came today. The build quality is actually pretty decent. It's small but has a nice heft to it, lots of glass and the barrel is mostly metal. I think the only plastic on it is the zoom and focus rings. The reviews weren't kidding when they said this thing is LOUD though. Kinda crashes back and forth while focusing. Not exactly the most mechanically refined arrangement but as long as I don't need to take wedding pictures with it (which I don't plan to) I should be fine.

Yet another solid "BGN" condition pickup from KEH. I can't find anything wrong with it. I had previously bought an old Tokina AT-X 35-70/2.8 from them in Canon FD mount also "BGN" condition and it was real solid. So they're 2 for 2 now. I could probably take this lens and turn it around for a nice little profit on ebay as they're going for about $150 on there. I'll probably keep it.

Also I can now report that during informal testing (i.e. taking shitty pictures of stuff in my living room) the K-x's built-in IS can provide a reasonably sharp picture at 210mm and 1/25 sec shutter. I don't feel like uploading the pictures though. h:

I know I said I'm lookin to snag a fast walkaround zoom and normal prime but now a Pentax SMC-F 135mm f/2.8 showed up on ebay and they're pretty rare in both SMC-F and SMC-FA (same optically, just different cosmetics) versions. It's already up to $190 with a couple days left on the auction so kinda out of impulse buy range. Tempting though.................

Just snagged an old off-brand (Albinar, also sold as Sears and JCPenney in the early 80s) 135mm f/2.8 manual focus for $23.50 shipped.
