Just a hint...ebay links aren't allowed. It's a decent beginner camera. But don't expect superb pictures with it being 3.2 megapixels.

I dont get why they are not allowed if it is posted to ask a question. What would the megapixels be to be a good camera?

It all depends on what you're using the camera for. If you're just going to use it to do shots of random things; cars, people, recreational purposes (like I do) then 3.2 will be fine. But if you're wanting to get really nice pics...then somewhere around 5 or 6 MP is what you're looking for...but then again, you're looking at a more epxensive camera too. Like I said, it's all about what you're going to be using it for.

ebay links are allowed only if you are considering buying the item you are linking and you have some questions. even then we don't encourage them.

Megapixel has more to do with size of the photo more than quality if Im not mistaken.

I've seen pictures that were 2 mp but were of great quality.

you are abosolutely correct. in order to have a significant change in photo quality from 2mp you'd need 8mp.

with my 6mp dslr I blew up a picture 20x30 poster size and it looks fantastic.

Yep exactly right.

To add to whart you and Rick have said there are also different quality of megapixles as well since there really is no set standard for megapixle placement and configuration. This means one companies 2mp camera could be equal to anothers 5mp camera yet give better quality images overall.

Do a search on google for an article titled "the megapixle myth" it is a great article that covers a lot of the truth and BS behind mp ratings.
