I'm going to be selling my 94 Del Sol, any takers?
Hey everyone,
Here's the story with my car. I bought it in January with a bad cylinder, with the intention of doing a b16 swap. Recently I have failed an emissions test due to high exhaust obviously. I took it to get an estimate yesterday and they ran a compression test - 30-60 psi in the 3rd cylinder, all others were alright. They say I need to get the head rebuilt, but as you know getting a new head would be a lot cheaper actually. However, this is what makes this car PERFECT for a swap. Each little problem it has is tied back to the low compression, and either getting a new head or doing an engine swap will solve everything and you'll have a terrific car. I would just get a new head... they are going for very cheap on eBay. However, I only have until April 6 to pass the emissions test, which doesn't leave me a lot of time to bid and get it installed. I am going to try my hardest to keep this car though, I really like it. Low compression resulted in decreased hp, a minor oil leak, increased emissions, etc.
So, I am trying my hardest to keep the car, but it doesn't look like it will happen. I figure those doing engine swaps will have much more of a use for this car than me at this point and I would post it here to see if anyone is interested. Please reply or email me if so at oakley2002@cox.net. I'm an eBay power seller if you'd like to check that out, and am located in OH.

This is a 94 Del Sol S 5sp with 170,000 miles. Black on black. Everything works as it should other than the 3rd cylinder. The car will run like 50,000 after the engine problem outlined above is fixed or you do a swap. According to CarFax, my car only had one owner before I purchased it at a car dealership here in OH. Since I bought it the car has been washed inside and out at least once a week. Everything is very clean, but does show the normal wear for a 94 car. It does have some minor rust here and there from being an OH car, and a dent in the rear of the drivers side.
I just installed about a $800 retail sound system in the car consisting of a JVC KD-SH77 receiver, front and rear Infinity 650i speakers, and an Alpine type R sub. This can be worked into the deal or not, either way.

Well, to make a long story short, somehow my friend and I fixed my car and it now has 30% more power than it ever did. We also found the repair was going to be under $150. I can't wait to see what the power will be like after the last cylinder is firing! There's no way I can justify selling my car anymore, sorry if anyone was interested. (Only one person so far who I appologized to thru email)
