And then subtract the price for a shop to pull the head and replace the head gasket, especially when you cant be certain that it is the HG. Could be rings.

Then your looking at roughly $3500.

Aftermarket parts dont mean jack when the motor smokes.

I dont need to, but why would I buy a motor that needed the head pulled? And if i were going to subtract money from the cost of the engine, it would include labor too. Why should I do the work?

Youre asking MORE than what a MINT OEM swap goes for, and yours is blown. Just because your head is built, doesnt mean you can tack on an extra $2000, especially since youre still running ITR cams. With that valvetrain, you could be running skunk2 stage 2 cams, and making 30+ hp more.

If you have the time pull the head and fix the problem. You will get more money that way. That is somethingi never understood. you see cars all the time on ebay or in local classifieds saying that the car needs this or that. most of the time the problem is so easy to fix that it would take a couple of hours to fix. it always states "Its an easy fix". Well if it is easy then fix it yourself then sell it and make more money.
