Under the new law, an unlimited number of carpool lane access stickers will be issued to eligible vehicles.For all those out there sick and tired of sitting in horrendous California traffic jams, good news has just arrived for drivers of the compressed natural gas-powered Civic GX and FCX Clarity fuel cell electric vehicles. The privilege was due to expire on January 1, 2011, but a recently passed bill determined that drivers of low emission vehicles would continue to have access to the fast moving carpool lanes, regardless of the number of passengers, until January 2015. Under the new law, an unlimited number of carpool lane access stickers will be issued to eligible vehicles. The law takes effect January 1, 2011, giving consumers plenty of time to pick up a Civic GX or FCX Clarity-or face the seemingly endless traffic jam that is California's freeway system.
