does afk have good TL notes

 

I actually haven't seen any TL notes in a.f.k.'s releases.

The only thing I've been confused on this far was the "Timotei!" bit in ep6, which I've since found out was Konata emulating the theme song of commercial from a long while ago for a bodywash called "Timotei." It was an almost Family Guy-like product reference. A lot of the anime/manga references and things like Comiket, doujinshi, dating sims, etc... are all known by the target audience for the show.

 

this series definitely needs TL notes and wind has been pretty good with that
i have to watch at each ep at least 2x to catch everything

I'm not big on TL notes. I don't like to hit pause to read a paragraph about a referance only to find out it was something I already caught. That's how I felt when watching the WIND subs.

I have no idea if the curry mold was some kind of reference or not. I did notice there are a lot of FMP and Haruhi references in this series. And poor Tsukasa :wtc: she was so excited about that phone. They're on a roll, I hope they can sustain it. I'm gonna go watch it again...
