rangel's logic for reinstating the draft is... interesting.
let's see if this gets the same outrage as did the false rumors with bush.

WASHINGTON -- Americans would have to sign up for a new military draft after turning 18 if the incoming chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee has his way.
Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., said Sunday he sees his idea as a way to deter politicians from launching wars and to bolster U.S. troop levels insufficient to cover potential future action in Iran, North Korea and Iraq.

If they do, the rest of you comes along. I was in the last draft into the Marine Corps when I got drafted. Talk about something that sucks...
The maximum age when I was drafted was 26 1/2 years old.

And maybe you (surprisingly) didn't know this reno, but the original rumors were all due to Rangel...he's been pressing draft bills ever since we went into Iraq.
I got into a "debate" in class my freshman year of college with a liberal woman prof about this after she said that Bush was reinstating the draft and that there was a bill in the house for it...it ended about 45 seconds later when I told her that Charlie Rangel, a liberal from NY, had come up with the bill, that no one would vote for it, and that I actually support a draft and her classroom scare tactics need to be better researched next time.
