you won't make any money if it isn't:

a TRU reissue
a TFC reissue
an eHobby reissue (excluding the tan Hound)
an Energon Combiner / G1 Homage (Superion, Omega Supreme)
a Cybertron figure before the "primus unleashed" tags. (Leobreaker, eVac, Galvatron)

Movie toys won't be worth a dime. Only buy them if you like them.

Really, one would expect the toys from the movie to be more. Care to explain your reasoning .

Also with that said, do you think the reissues of the movie chars will be more or just the whole reissue line all together

Every chain in America will have entire walls full of movie toys. (Meijer's, Target, Wal-Mart, Toys R Us, Hasbro Toy Shop, Amazon, etc)

The TF Movie is being hyped though the roof. Also, it's the only thing that will make Hasbro money in 2007.

Ever notice how many TMNT toys are on the shelf now? Remember Batman Returns? Even the freaking Superman kick flooded shelves (and still does today).

On the 4th of July, the biggest movie of 2007 arrives. Trust me, there will be more than enough to meet consumer demand.

The movie characters will DRAW adults back into their childhood. They'll see Optimus Prime and say ... "that's not the optimus prime I remember".

They'll find it, and want it due to pure hype / nostalgia factors.

It only takes 1 TF to gateway into the rest. I can vouch for that ... so can everyone here.

You just need that 1 cool figure to blow open the flood gates. At that point, expect for the Hasbro vs Takara reissue rules to apply to the value of the figure in question.

(If Hasbro did it, Takara didn't ... it's worth more. If Takara did it, Hasbro didn't ... it's worth more. If they both did it, it's worth less across the board)

Concur on e3's assessment of the movie toys & merchandise. I plan to take a hiatus for the most part and get everything on clearance or in loose lots on the 'Bay. If e3 can pick up big lots of loose G1 stuff cheap, imagine how much loose movie stuff is going to be going for in a year... next to nothing.

Here's my list again, for those interested:

On another note, here are some less-than-stellar reviews of the Swoop KO. Sounds like some issues with the plastic and stickers:

ah, gotcha. Fantastic selection on the TFC keepers.

I'm a huge fan of the Alternators and the 3in Predaking too. That lil figure will be worth something some day.

Exactly. The Movie stuff will be thrown down our throats for at least a year. I'm not too big of a fan of the toys, but who knows .. .maybe the movie will make me think otherwise. (much like Galaxy Force did with the Cybertron line) ::madr:

I was afraid of this. These KO's are being produced by the thousands it seems.

For the KO Prime, there was never a distribution this wide. There was 4 sellers at most (Trainee007, WS-toys, Spirit, and Duocons), and maybe a few more caught on after the initial hype was done (Maybang, ToyNK, etc).

These Swoops are being sold by everyone and anyone. With that high of a distribution, I'm almost sure lots of corners were cut or cut short. :eh:

Imagine what the feeding frenzy will be like when the movie comes out. You could probably list a turd that looks like a TF and make bank.

I finally threw a Mirage & Camshaft on eBay last night. Hopefully they'll each fetch $40+ so my Meijer haul wasn't a waste of time.
