The International Toy Fair was held in NYC over the weekend. To sum things up:

- Transformers is gets the Star Wars treatment. The Attacktix battle game and Titanium die-cast figures are the upcoming projects.

- The Cybertron line is going to get FILLED with toys not seen in the cartoon. Armada Optimus Prime makes another appearance as a $10 figure sporting a new paint job. UNICRON is an orange battle tank for the $10 line. Soundwave and Nemesis Breaker (Dark Ligerjack) will be out in March. Metroplex and Galvatron is the new leader assortment starting in the summer.

- The Alternator line continues with or without Binaltech support. A near completed Optimus Prime was shown, along with Mirage. March's Alternator case will feature 4 figures, Optimus Prime, Rollbar, Ricochet, and Skids / Sunstreaker. May's case will feature 4 figures, Optimus Prime, Mirage, Meister, and Tracks / Swerve.

- Beast Wars Returns completely tanked. This line is DONE after the Megatron and Primal 2 pack slated for a fall release. These figures are not repaints, but brand new molds ... kind of a "this is how they were supposed to be done" release.

(not sure if these image hotlinks work...)

I pretty much agree with you here.

In the past, I've always asked myself ... :wtf: Do I have to buy ALL the Transformers out there? This was in early 2005, during the time of:

TRU Reissues
Energon
Alternators

and continued into 2006 with Cybertron and TFCs. But the recent lines have shown me that I really don't buy everything ... and some TFs do suck.

I might grab a few titanium or attacktix figures for the cube, but there's no way I'm going to hunt them like I do Alternators.

AFA Predaking will be making an e-Bay appearance tonight.

The only double TFC I've decided to keep is Soundwave, to go along with the double TFC Blaster. The others can go. I guess we'll see what happens over the week. Whatever doesn't sell will sit on the shelf for another 6 months then go back out again.
