Default JDM NSX-R gears for a USDM

Hey Guys
I'm soon to be picking up an NSX, an early model, 91-94. How much are the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gears off the NSX-R tranny and where can you get them?
I've heard times are cut by almost a full second with these.
Thanks

The NSX Type R gears are the same as the European and domestic Japanese market transmissions except for a different ring and pinion (4.23 vs 4.06) and a slightly tighter differential. You can get the gear sets from Basch Acura Service in Phoenix or Dali Racing in SoCal. Basch can also get you the clutch pack to build your diff. to the type R specs.

Thanks for the info.
About how much does the ring and pinion changeover cost?
And would this changeover lead to a shorter gear ratio for better acceleration?

You would have to check with Dali, Basch or (possibly) Science of Speed for pricing. A shorter gear ratio increases your mechanical advantage through the drivetrian, but how desireable it is depends on what kind of driving you do. Most people are pretty happy with the higher ratio R&P.

You can also get the gears from your local Acura dealer. Look in the FAQ for the part numbers.

However, they do NOT cut times by a full second.

0-60 stock gears 5.31 short gears 5.09
0-80 stock gears 7.98 short gears 8.10
0-100 stock gears 12.30 short gears 11.83
0-110 stock gears 14.71 short gears 14.87
0-130 stock gears 22.27 short gears 21.96
0-150 stock gears 37.78 short gears 41.06
1/4 mile stock gears 13.67 short gears 13.56

Not for what you get. You can get a very nice '91 for low thirties. I think that's an incredible bargain.

So anyway, what's with all the mindless duplicate posts?
