The supposed car is MR anyways, so its good enough.

I read the post through quickly, and saw talk of a "cheap FWD Golf" or something of the like, so I assumed the car would be a FWD roadster or something h:

This will compete with the Audi TT though, not the MR2. VW will charge what they can get for it.

 

They say it's gonna be cheap and that it may even underpin the next TT. I would say the best bet is that the Concept-R is to the next-gen TT as the Touareg is to the Cayenne.

 

The thing must be pretty hefty tho.....i thought it would be much faster with that engine....

 

The only performance measure is a claimed 0-60 time of 5.3 seconds. Sounds about right for 261 hp.

I like it clean and smooth. Hope they build it without too much exterior changes to the production car.

 

That sounds more like s2k and Z competetion.

 

Is it me or could this really be the next Boxster shape?

The rear deck looks a lot like an evolution of a boxster.

I say make it a 1.8T with more boost for 200 hp, lose some weight and sell it for $25K and off the high end model as equipped above for $30 something.
