That 170 hp engine sounds more in tune with what I was expecting, although I must say I thought it was going to weigh a good bit less than 2800 lbs. Still, even without the supercharged motor it should be a pretty neat car.

I would also suspect pricing to be around the Miata's as well.

I think 170HP will be fine for this car with a manual transmission, but I wouldn't be too excited to drive this thing with an automatic.

Styling is progressing nicely. For some reason it reminds me of a Bugeye Sprite.

WTF? I thought GM said it would have a blown motor!

Im sure GM performance division or aftermarket companies will have forced induction kits in the not too distant future

Who knows if this is right, but the February 2004 issue of C&D says that the production version of the Solstice will weigh around 300 more lbs. than the "production concept" shown in Detroit. Also C&D says pricing should be closer to low "20s".

Didn't the car shown at Detroit already weigh something like 2800 lbs? 170 hp in that car was nothing special to begin with and in a car that weighs 3100 lbs that's pretty freakin wimpy. Not to mention that an MR2 Spyder weighs under 2200 lbs and a Miata is about 2400 lbs.

The bean counters cutting cost.

I rather see a liughter car. It's easy to add hp. Hard to drops 300lbs.
