Wowsers batman. You are telling me a 5 year old Accord is in 2nd place right behind the brand new carmy, and that it almost beat it was withing a few thousand units of beating it here and there.

Well, this puts not doubt in my mind that the 2003 Accord will reign supreme over the Camry (and the other guys duh).

 

Dunno. The new Accord looks ugly to me, and I have a feeling its effort to keep up with the Nissan Altima content-wise may make it more expensive. The Camry sells well because it is reliable and the 4-cyl automatic model is inexpensive. The only reason the Taurus is npping at the Accord is financing and rebates. The Maxima appears to have been doomed by the revised Altima. Here's hoping the redesign pushes the car forward.

 

You have to remember that nobody really has seen the new Accord yet, and those are test mules, so anything and everything can change by the time of introduction.

 

Nissan should make a 2 door Altima coupe.

I would think that we'd see a 2-door Maxima before we saw a 2-door Altima. The new Altima is based off the Maxima's chassis (if I am not mistaken), and the upcoming 2004 Maxima would be based off a new platform...it just makes more sense.

 

2 door maxima would be right in G35 price range. So why get the fwd nissin with same/less power than the rwd infiniti?

 

I'm surprised at how well the Altima is selling. Nissan only has the capacity to build around 200,000 a year, which eqautes to like 16,500 a month, and according to this list it looks like they're selling as many as they can build.

 

remember the first gen of the altimas in the early 90s...140hp (accord had 130) and about the same size as the accord...it was supposed to trump the camry and accord...it was hot for the 1st 2 years then died down...i'm not sure if this car will suffer the same fate
