I could have sworn I saw one of them here, blue paint and all, today. Saw it twice, both times I forgot my digi cam. It was beautiful. So have they been released? or was this just a "mock" R32?

Is that the R32 or just the 20th anniversary editions (or whatever it's called). I think VW has a edition with a 1.8t engine, 18" rims, and other exterior changes but it's definately not the R32.

This is the 20th anniversary edition.

I didn't see any 25th anniversary badges on it....just a red-ish badge on the left side of the grill.....it looked EXACTLY like this:

It may not have as impressive performance as it should, but it's one hell of a looker.

The R32 info is not on VW's website, and when I was at a dealership a month ago they weren't there either. I don't think they will come to our shores until this fall or winter. Either way, I've heard less than stunning things about the R32. Car and AutoExpress both tested it and reported 6.4 and 6.5 for a 0-60 time. Kind of blah for a 30k Golf if you ask me, esp. when you can get an Evo or Sti for that price. The only good thing is that the new Jettas will get the 3.2L standard, putting out around the same power.

Red badge? That was a Special Edition 1.8T.

redish badge is probably the GTI badge. R32 has been delayed til next year.

reason given was that VW had a hard time filling the orders in Europe. :dunno:

What you saw was probably a 20th AE. It has a classic rabbit badge on the rear hatch.

Probably someone with a really good body kit, not that the R32 looks too special. I've seen some knock-offs in Eurotuner magazine.

Probably the Rabbit, I took my car down to the dealership. Honda/VW/Kia. The guy at the VW dealership was trying to sell me one of them.
