Default Free Apple iPOD!

Thats what you get with the purchase of a new 2003 VW New Beetle apparently. VW and Apple have teamed up for a joint marketing campaign titled "Pods Unite". Current VW users also get a bunch of other Apple computer related gimmics such as $100 a purcahse at their online store, etc... It's actually one of the better ad campaigns that I've seen in awhile. Read all about it here:

just another gimmic to get people to buy the slumping beetle whose sales have plummeted leading VW to one of its worst years on record (including that million car ignition coil recall that vw tried to hide for a while)

Now if only being stuck driving a New Beetle was worth the free iPod, then VW would be on to something.

That's all we need.... more air-head techno geeks playing with their electronic gadgets at 65 mph in the height of rush hour. So they can watch their DVD, play Nintendo, and select their favorite MP3 all while cruising at a comfortable highway speed.

iPod's have to be Apple's goofiest computer.

And nothing is worth driving a new Beetle....especially a 2.0.

Too bad Apple didn't partner with Honda to do something like that for either the Element or the Civic Si...IMHO.

The Elements sell really well for some odd reason (However, I think its one of ugliest vehicles on the market.) :barf:, but the Civic Si needs more sales yet its ugly too. From what I heard they are selling very poorly or not up to Honda's sales expectations. So, a promotion like this ought to help with sales of the ugly new Civic Si.h:
