EXACTLY. Thank you, SoR for being among the few bright enough to see this "performance package" for what it really is...a RIP OFF.

The BMW performance package is actually a performance package. The honda ones are more "Rice Boy" packages with body kits and rims, and they want 3 grand for that crap, hell no.

Then keep it to yourself and shut your mouth if someone thinks it's worth the price to get factory installed suspension goodies, bigger wheels and tires, and a body kit from Honda instead of beating it into their head like they're morons. That's their choice, and if they have that kind of money to pay let them. I can think of far worse ways to spend 3 or 4 grand. Are you seriously so naieve or just so stupid that you don't understand how much of a prick you come off as?

I think it is a rip-off too, but I can understand getting it all from the dealer as a package w/ a single payment.

Personally, I think body kits are parts that are more likely to get damaged by curbs, bottoming out, etc., all of which means it no longer looks cool (just like how cars w/ "cool" smooth sides w/o a ding strip look nice until some moron creases the sheetmetal w/ their door).

What galls me is that you have to buy all this crap as a single overpriced package, rather than be able to purchase wheels, suspension, and body and trim pieces separately. The Honda body kit and trim will likely be first rate, while tires, suspension, etc. won't. There should be more performance when you buy a performance package, so an exhaust and intake would be something to expect for $4200.

you also have to look at the exclusivity of the offer too...the bmw performance package (only available on the 330i model is readily available there for higher production and lower cost of offering)

i think the accord/civic/rsx performance packages are highly limited helping to lead to a higher overall price

then you take into account why the bmw package that offers more costs $300 less...a 30k bmw has much higher profit built into the car therefore more room to offer such a significant upgrade at a lower cost where the accord and civic honda doesn't make anywhere near the profit on those cars and cannot offer a less expensive performance package b/c the car's profit margin is smaller

just looking at the differences on a initial look the bmw package looks all the more reasonable and hondas kits being less so...but when you delve into the background and profit margins a car makes it shows how much money bmw makes off a base bmw to offer these upgrades at a lower price

Btw, for you and everyone else who seems to think this is such a great deal, don't keep throwing around this vague "3 or 4 grand" b.s., time to get real... IT'S $4200 BEFORE INSTALLATION! Now, I don't know about your Honda service department, but mine, and I'll bet everybody else's charges around $50-60 per hour for labor. The reality is that anyone with an automatic Coupe (i.e., the vast majority of owners) who buys this package is probably looking at closer to FIVE GRAND to have it installed on their car.

Oh, and if you're ever in Athens, GA, why don't you come look me up and see if you are man enough to "shut my mouth" for me...

this is a threat for violence and you are now banned

I agree it is too expensive to get. I got part of the FP kit but not the whole thing. All i got was the body kit which I paid under 1000 for got the spoiler at invoice too. Didn't care too much about the rims and suspensions. I could change those with aftermarkert parts. The good thing about the whole thing was... I paid nothing to get it installed...It was part of the invoice price I paid for the car. All in all the parts and labor came out to 1100. I personally feel that anyone thats looking for a ground effects kit is probably gonna pay in and around what honda is charging for theirs. I also think the the ground-effects kit they offer adds a nice touch. It gives the Coupe a sportier yet classy and elegant look all at the same time. (no rice here)
