I agree that this is quite odd for Mercedes. I mean, prior to the SL's last redesign the design was ~9 years old...It's kind of weird that Mercedes is already giving the car a facelift.

Even still, I think its an improvement on an already great "nose" design.

I don't believe it. If it happens to be true, it is getting uglier.

100% man? Come on, 99% maybe. Hopefully they arent this dumb. SL is one of best designs to comeout of any company for years, and that is a downgrade right there. The SLR can pull of that nose cuz of its F1 influences. The SL cant.

DaimlerBenz has already decided to do this. 99.9%, okay Michael Jordan?

The SL was just re done, and they are already doing a facelift? I have not hear a thing in any of the other car web sites, or in any of the major car magazines I subscribe to, I'll believe it when I see it.......

You'll see it as a 2005 model

DC cant be this dumb. So a SL65AMG (i think thats the one i jus read about in evo) will have a super powerful V12, something well over 600hp, while the "flagship op model" the SLR will have less? Sure the SLR weighs a lot less, and will peform better, but to most people hp is hp. and the $400k model should have more than the similar looking cheaper one.

ALthough I haven't seen pictures of them side to side, wouldn't the SL65 be more of a "luxury boat," whereas the SLR a hard-core exotic sports machine? However the fact remains that no matter what Mercedes does with the SLR and SL65AMG, we ALL know they will sell every last one of them w/ no problem whatsoever - not a dumb business decision IMO.

On a sidenote, has anyone heard for sure that the SL65 will be coming tot he US? I didn't think that information had been decided upon/released yet.
