American Honda Sales Climb 18 Percent to New May Record of 130,454

TORRANCE, Calif., June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- American Honda Motor Co., Inc., recorded its best-ever May with sales of 130,454, up 18 percent, to achieve the second largest sales month in the company's history.
New all-time records for May include total truck sales of 51,598, up 57.2 percent and Acura division sales of 16,495. All-time record Odyssey sales of 15,974 were up 14.2 percent while CR-V sales rose 13.1 percent to 13,772, and Pilot reached 9,777. American Honda sales of 558,743 for the calendar year are running 14.4 percent ahead of last year's record setting pace.
Honda Division set a new May record and broke the 100,000 barrier for the third consecutive month with sales of 113,959, an increase of 21.6 percent. The all-new Element recorded its best sales month to date, 6,982, since it went on sale in December 2002. Year-to-date sales for the division are up 18 percent led by strong Accord sales of 37,210, up 11.5 percent for the month and up 9 percent since January.
Acura division posted a new all-time record for a single month with 16,495 sales, breaking the previous mark of 16,333 set in August 2002. Robust sales of the new TSX sports sedan, combined with strong sales of the TL and MDX, helped push Acura sales to a new high.
"American Honda continues to grow by expanding into new light truck markets while boosting its momentum in automobiles with class-leading vehicles like the Honda Accord and Acura TSX," said Dick Colliver, executive vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "Even in a tough market, both Honda and Acura Divisions are showing remarkable success."

- TSX is experiencing very strong sales. More than the Jag X-Type.

Its great to see the Acura TSX sell well, but I don't know who in the world would want to buy an Element! I hate them with a passion, they look just as ugly as a Aztek! h:

I don't know why the G35s and the G35c sale figures are not combined like the BMW and the Benz. That would put it @ #2. Camry, Accord, Civic, and Corolla are doing well as usual.

Actually, just hit the quote button on the bottom right hand side of his response.

If you click the quote button four times fast, you win $10. Nobody has been able to do it fast enough though. :happysad:
