the design is all chrysler and it's made in Brazil jointly by BMW and Chrylser.

Um, 2 series? :dunno:
Um, 8 series? :dunno:
As for the 4, i think its just going to be the Z4, not a whole line up.

Heh, your right about that. Another thing is BMW is going to start using forced induction?, i read somewhere that they will have a twin turbo inline-6 in the 5 series, but that sounds kinda silly to me.

BMW already had 8-series 840, 850, 850CSi.

I doubt a 4 series as well. Just Z4

There is a rumored 3.0L twin turbo ~380hp engine for the new upcoming 5-series. this engine will probably be positioned between the V10 in the M5 (500hp?) and the 4.5L V8 (330hp).

Well well well BMW boy, BMW has already announced the 3 series Coupe will be called the 4 series from now on. Odd numbers are sedans, evens are coupes/convertibles. What's that? Yeah, I know I'm good, you don't have to remind me

I've read that too and it make no sense to me what so ever. How does the Z5 fall into the naming convention now? It's an odd number but it will be a coupe only.

I wouldn't call myself a BMW boy, I'm don't think BMW is the only maker capable of making great cars. There are plenty of Japanese cars I would love to own as well. I'm a performance car enthusiast who happen to own a BMW

yeah I just realized that 1-series is odd and yet it's only two door? or is that three door.

here is the info 02RSXTYPES was refering too.

"Starting with this autumn’s Z3 replacement, BMW will adopt a revised naming system for its cars.

As a result, sedans and wagons from 2004 onward will retain the familiar odd number designations— 1 Series, 3 Series, 5 Series and 7 Series. Meanwhile, all upcoming coupes and cabriolets will get even number designations, the first being next year’s 6 Series, while today’s popular 3 Series becomes a 4 Series in 2006. The future could hold a keenly priced 2 Series and a follow-up to the discontinued 8 Series to fill out the range. "

So this tell me that the current E46 3-series will not have it's name changed. However the replacement (brand new one) will be called 4-series.

I guess they consider the 1-series a wagon since its a hatchback, and therefore it's an odd number? I don't know, the whole new system seems kinda silly to me.
