That's exactly what I was about to say too. Not to mention their 2.5L is in the 325 and 525. There's nothing wrong with sharing engine if the engine is capable.

98CoupeV6: I agree this are the Pro I would put the the 530 too. But I would also say those are the pros for the G35 too:
- Chassis
- Gas Mileage (just about the same as the 530i, maybe a couple mpg less)
- Transmission (auto or manual) might not be world class tranny but very capable.
- Looks (very subjective... I like both)
- Interior quality/materials (I sat in both and felt both have similar interior quality)
- Interior Design (subjective, I like the G35 more, 530 is too plain for me)
- Ride on highway (can't comment on the 530, but the G35 rides just fine on the highway for me)
- Resale value (can't beat BMW in resales, but I would rather have a more reliable car than a car that has higher resale value_
- Lots of options (same with the G35)
- Nameplate (sadly, the only nameplate that carries weight for me is the white propellor) (I agree completely)
- Handling (with sport package) (G35 handles just as well as the 330 so I don't see how the 530 could be a better handler)

Goin to pick up the 530 today. Dad almost got a G35, but my the time the car is leased, the payments come out nearly the same(50 dollar a month difference!). Most likely will be black on black with the M Sport Package(yes, they have that in canada)

And the Z4. And the X5. All of their models aside from the Z8 and 7-Series. Proportionately speaking, it serves the same purpose for BMW as the VQ35 does for Nissan.

350Z, G35,FX35 (same platform)
altima, maxima, murano, quest (same platform) (I35 was the same platform as the old maxima)
pathfinder, qx4 (same platform)

So you just listed 3 different platform that Nissan put the VQ35DE in. BMW is using the 3.0L in the 3-series, 5-series, and X5... so that 3 different platform for you.

If you were smart enough, you'd read my post and then make yourself look good.
