Definately some interesting news. I wonder if it will get a name change (as S2200 would only be right). It sounds as though the Civics will get the customary 3-year freshening to tide them over until the next generation (hopefully Si will now be 200hp). Also, does that Accord's grille look different to anyone? It looks like a sedans, but only the coupes have the 'Chrysler' wings on the grille, and neither model currently features it in crome. Anyone have a pic of that Chinese Accord again?

[edit]
Nevermind on that Accord, it's here right now.

So it's safe to expect 240HP/175 lb-ft of torque then. I'll trust Honda, because I don't really see the point of this...except maybe to decrease warranty claims on people blowing their engines up. Whatever. I can't wait to see the new gauges and the Civic refreshenings, even though they were already kind of refreshened for MY2003

What, no hp-bump for the S2000?

Hopefully the 04MY changes to the Civic will breathe some life into the model. The Civic line hasn't been faring so well in any of the magazine reviews or comparos. I wouldn't mind a hp bump all around, especially in the Si. Guess they're not bringing the Type R over after all.

"Guess they're not bringing the Type R over after all."

Motortrend reported recently that they think the Civic Type R was coming over here. I wonder what the changes will look?

Yeah, I said so. I also said I expect little to no increase in hp. This is a move strictly to please mag editors. So they cant bitch as much about the lack of low end torque. Hopefully the redline wont drop much.

The Type R wont be here til next year, that according to 2 different Honda dealers. I think once the R comes out Honda sounds like they may drop the Si.

Vamp: Dealers know less than us.

I'm changing my speculation...I'm thinking 250-260HP and 175 ft-lbs. Honda would advertise torque increase in the car to dealers because that is where the problem in the car lies...but I bet that they'd throw in a few more ponies to go along with it.
