Most likely just a body kit on a Z4.
Still ugly.
as for someones comment about using the existing M3s S54 engine.
why would they put in one of their newest engine into a Z4? It has not proven itself to be a good selling car.
The new M3 will the first to ge the new M3 engine not the Z4. Not to mention it will be a M4 not M3.

more like 5.0-5.1 to 60
and 13.4-13.5 in the 1/4
The S54 M coupe runs ~ 4.8-5.0 seconds to 60 and 13.4-13.3 in the 1/4mi
The Z4 3.0i is only about 100lbs lighter than the S54 M Coupe.
No way it will do 12.5 in the 1/4mi.

because the Z4 3.0i lighter not the Z4 M Roadster.
For example the Z3 3.0I was only 2850lbs
Thus the Z4 M Roadster would be some 200+lbs heavier.
and READ MY POST! I SAID S54 M COUPE! where did I say M3 coupe?
of course the M3 coupe is also slower than the S54 MCoupe.

Yeah the wheels are pretty small, there are no signature M bits, and it could very well be a Z4 with a bodykit. But it's also possible that the guy driving the thing is like, a known BMW test-driver or something.
As for weights, the '02 S54 M Roadster weighs 3131 lbs and the '02 Z3 Roadster 3.0i weighs 2910 lbs; so that perhaps gives an idea of the weight increase that would go along with an M version of the Z4.
