Early sales figures show that as many as 27 percent of Hummer H2 buyers are women, Reuters reported. This compares to about five percent of owners of the bigger, badder and far more expensive Hummer H1.

"We were estimating...that [H2 sales] would be 10 to 15 percent female," Hummer brand manager Mike DiGiovanni told Reuters.

Sales to women have helped make the macho H2 the top-selling full-size luxury sport utility vehicle on the U.S. market since it went on sale last summer, the story said.

Sales for the H2's first seven months on the market total 19,222 and it's on track to hit 36,000 units this year, a pace that has forced the Indiana plant where the H2 is built to work overtime since last summer.

The H2 has achieved its sales numbers without offering any consumer incentives or discounts. Consequently—according to a Wall Street analyst quoted by Reuters—General Motors could be making roughly $10,000 or more on each H2.

I believe it. there is a woman at work with a black one. in danville, those things are everywhere and 3 out of 4 drivers are women.

I think those rank up there with the Ford Excursion as my least favorite vehicles of all time.....Sucks to hear the H2 is selling so well, what a waste of money.

just wait until the H3 comes out.....CNN said GM is working on it right now.........an even cheaper Hummer that will allow EVEN MORE people to buy it. :slap:

Reason why females buys Hummer is because they can't drive so at least if they hit something they don't know.

Gotta love the 10 miles per gallon and the $100 fill up at the gas tank.:fawk:

Well, I see tons of them where I live. More H2's than Preludes, Integra's and 240SX's combined. At least 35% of the drivers are women down here. Its pretty sad, a posers car, no doubt.

There's a lot of them around here. Problem is, their as functional as a Chevrolet Suburban as a daily driver, so it appeals to a lot of people. Which sucks.

Dang, and I accually wanted an H2. All the ones I see around here(college campus) are all driven by guys.

i like them b/c they make the highway slalom fun...especially when they are hogging the left lane (speed up when they are supposed to get over and slow down when they block traffic) and you pass on the right b/c they will never get over and they try to speed up (hear the low torque engine straining at high rpms) to stay in front of you...you then just laugh and pass them and get in front of them and look at em (they will tailgate even though you are now going faster than they were) fume b/c their 5000lb V8 12mpg truck is really in essence slow (of course when they floor it the big 3 and oil companies all get a sense of satisfaction)
